you could do it yellow and blue

pick the biggest (featured) wall, paint it a really sunny yellow and paint the other walls blue. voila! you have a happy contrast of yellow and blue. (internet example: [link] )

we did this in my oma's kitchen with mint green and grass green and it looks amazing.

Bright colors are not adequate to a bedroom (I suppose that's the room in question). White, cream, and other smooth colours may be boring, but you'll sleep that much better.

Skyblue, with yellow tint on top(like sun glare) and maybe, try painting clouds on to walls, such sky-room would look awesome.

Well, actually, plenty of decorators make bedrooms up with bright colors. And I really can't imagine myself in a beige or soft colored room...

Cool colors really are the way to go, but if you like bright colors I agree with 120. You could do some green along the bottom as grass. I always wanted to paint my room to look like outside.
